WARNING! Please be advised that this is not your ordinary “fluffy bunny” feel-good Christmas story. If you are looking for a story to read to children that helps them feel that all is right with the world, and that bluebirds fly over the rainbows, and that dreams really do come true, please exercise caution...Arty Gibbons hasn't changed his socks since the dawn of detergent, and the air in Gila has gotten rotten. Wallowing in his garage prison, rejected by friends, family, and even the rat who used to live behind the freezer, Arty is unable to fathom why he hasn't any friends. Even his own Mother refuses to come near, sliding his meals into the garage through the doggy door. Feared, frayed, forgotten, and facing nothing but very short lines, Arty devises a Journey of vengeance, aimed to rob the spiteful world, of what it holds most dear: its coming Christmas stockings.
